Educating girls creates a Ripple Effect. We can strengthen our future generation
ONLY if we EDUCATE our GIRLS and EMPOWER our WOMEN.
“Foundation for Women At Risk,” is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization for helping, protecting
and supporting women around the globe, whose freedom and rights are threatened by abuse at home, workplace, school, playground, or any other private, professional or social setting.
Indian Dreams Foundation (IDF) foresees a future where every girl child is educated and empowered. IDF was founded in 2005 with the belief that every child has the right to education, the ability to control their own lives, lead a healthy life, and attain a sustainable livelihood.

Purpose of Donation: Girls’ Education and life Skills
Mohini is a seven years old girl. She belongs to a poverty-stricken family and lives in an urban slum of Agra. She had lost her father two years ago when she was just five years old. Now, she lives with her mother and three siblings in her grandparent's house. Her mother works on daily wages and brings irregular income into the home.
Mohini's mother could not send her to school in this challenging financial predicament. So, her mother never sends her to school. However, she is very energetic and willing to continue studying for her great future. Her mother has reached with team IDF and requested Mohini's education support.
At initial level, we have provided her extra academic support classes to improve education, life skill, good and bad habit, and self-hygiene practices.
Now, she is part of IDF's girls' education program and is hopeful of getting education opportunities through sponsorship from generous support from donors.
Kiran is a twelve years old girl, and she belongs to a distressed background. She lives in a mud house in an urban slum of Agra. Her father is a shoe labour in a Shoe factory. Her father is an alcoholic, so he spends significant income on purchasing alcohol for himself.
Due to his addiction, the rest of the
family suffered the fulfilling basic facilities for survival; in that case, her mother is helpless to send her children to school. She is much vulnerable to coping with the day-to-day challenges at home and very distressed at seeing her children out of school and wandering on the streets.
She immensely desires to send her children to a school for a promising future. She contacted the IDF team and solicited education support for Kiran.
Now, Kiran is part of IDF's girls' education program and is hopeful of getting education
opportunitiesthrough sponsorship from generous support from donors.
More than 20,000 Americans call a domestic violence hotline every day. According to the National Collation Against Domestic Violence, a least 10 million adults experience domestic violence annually in the U.S. Sadly, more than one third of those victims require medical care. And just as disturbing – an estimated 10 million cases don't get reported at all, which is why I authored the book, Domestic Abuse Unreported Crime.
Imagine for a moment, not the numbers attached to these statistics, but the faces of the victims; people who look like your mother, your sister, your son, daughter, or even me. My name is Veera Mahajan and I have first-hand knowledge of the emotional and physical destruction domestic violence can cause, and I have made it my life's mission to end it. But how do you end a scourge as old as time? It’s not easy. I believe the problem has been addressing the abuse after it's occurred. My philosophy is to give people the tools
to prevent it from happening in the first place.
Today, and I am a Certified Interpersonal Mediator. My specialty: teaching people how to resolve disputes without fists. In addition to holding advanced degrees in Mediation and Dispute Resolution as well as Spirit Psychology, my personal journey provides me with a unique perspective of the victim/abuser psyche and to weigh in and redirect negative behavior.
In my 15+ years of experience, I've discovered that poor communication, unmet expectations, and lack of negotiating skills are at the root of violence. I've developed techniques and courses to help clients navigate a win-win resolutions through peaceful negotiation. What's more, I am an advocate for teaching fundamental mediation skills to adults and children alike, empowering them to self-mediate and break the cycle of abuse.
Together we can put an end to this social cancer. Domestic abuse knows no boundaries and does not discriminate. There's no shame in asking for help.
A winning plan for your empowered, bright future is waiting for you!
Xx
Veera
